It Is Always Warmer With More Covers

Everyone loves the winter when they are warm underneath the covers. It is that brilliant morning when you wake up to snow and suddenly all seems slow. You pound the alarm one last time knowing you will not have work or go to school (it is Tennessee, no one here can drive in a flurry). Then you turn up the dial on your heated blanket. You realize this bliss could keep you there all day. There is something so simple and comforting about that cover. It is a shield from the dark, cold world. It hugs you when no one else will. It is that one safe place you can run to every time. It reminds you of home. So, let us establish something. I have a acute weakness for covers--the musical kind that is.
Not only have I discovered rare jewels from the music from Penny and Sparrow covers-- I have learned to appreciate their raw sound. It does not take very long to do so. The heartache they can bring to a song is timeless. It is so refreshing how they can deliver a song minus any fanfare and yet I feel more at a show that ever. Their uncut, living room style video makes me trust the voices on the other end. It is a sound you can trust not to be manufactured. Oh, how rare this occasion. It is getting a little chilly--pull up the covers.
