Fireside music

If we start with 2006, Daylight hits stores. "Shine On" was looped on Christian radio stations and was the song you probably know but are unaware of. The real clincher of this album lies in the song "Hayley". This song has a haunting theme. It chronicles a sad, uncertain, hesistant love--but instead of brushing off insecurities--it faces them. The honesty in this track is evident and seems to sink into your skin and ease your veins. Few songs can quiet a soul like this one.
The Heat came the next year and stole hearts. If you remember the days when an entire album was gold--that's this album. "Restless" speaks to wild heart in us all. "Again" makes us feel like we've lost something beautiful. "Return" reminds us to look back. "We Could Run Away" makes you want to get into an old car, close your eyes, and pray for the moment it breaks down. That kind of freedom does not get written in songs the way it should be. "More Time" made a motion picture debut on P.S. I Llove You. "Moving On" and "Washed by the Water" became anthems of our generation.
These two albums marry the celebration of life with the ugly truth of our hearts. The gruff of Bear's voice and the lively instrumentals take your ears on vacation. Words do not often fail but when they do...

"If you don't know just how you feel,
Don't say those sweet things that you know i'd wanna hear
And if you don't know, just what to think
then put your thoughts away and keep them out of reach" --"Hayley"
